The First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church (First ARP) of Gastonia, NC is a church with a rich history, passionate people, and a commitment to bettering their community and world.
First ARP saw the need to redesign their graphic identity as an initial step towards reaching a wider audience within the Gastonia area. Looking to tie into the rich leagacy and foundations of the church, our logo design is inspired by root and tree imagery that communicates key messages of stability, strength, and foundations. The fact that Gastonia has a long history intertwined cotton and textiles also drove our design team to "weave in" the suggestion of knitting—but connections and relationships, rather than textiles.
To more effectively communicate with its members and improve its public outreach, First ARP commissioned us to redesign and rework its primary website. Rethinking and adjusting the info architecture to more appropriately meet the needs of their audiences, we also helped install a simple CMS backend that allows the entire staff to contribute to the site. On top of these foundations, we also revamped the site's look and feel to match their new identity, allowing for a polished and trustworthy experience.
