Music and fashion photographer Dove Shore documented the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in a poignant and unexpected way—with a series of haunting portraits of musicians affected by the hurricane. The photos were collected in a book by the photographer, called the "Katrina Music Project". 100% of the proceeds from the sales of the book will go towards the New Orleans Musicians Hurricane Relief Fund, Sweet Home New Orleans, and MusicCares.
Three years of traveling the country led photographer Dove Shore to find and shoot musicians touched by Hurricane Katrina. The design of the coffee table volume needed to reflect the honest, raw emotion of those photographed—by allowing Shore's photos to speak as needed—either with a whisper, a yell, or a quiet stare.
